Notel reframes accommodation with urban trailer park brand

Check out Melbourne’s glam rooftop Airstream trailer park.

While many hotel brands are struggling to differentiate, Notel taps into the glamping and rooftop urban oasis trends to redefine the category.

Notel brand

Notel consists of six shiny Airstream trailers perched high on a rooftop terrace. All the trailers are fitted out with chic interiors, queen-sized bed, ensuite and fridge. Entry is by smartphone and they’re also loaded with urban essentials such as an iPad Pro with Netflix, complimentary craft beer and bubbles and WIFI. There’s also an outdoor deck and one of the trailers comes with a private outdoor spa.

Notel was created by Melbourne businessman James Fry to be “like no hotel you’ve ever been to”. This was also the inspiration for the brand name; it’s no hotel.

However, while the brand concept is different, the name sounds very similar to Novotel. Hopefully their legal team have checked this.

What do you think – Is this coolest place to stay in Melbourne or just another gimmick?
