A beautiful Brand Gesture

The Lake House in Dayelsford, Regional Victoria is one of my favourite places to retreat from the hustle and bustle of life, enjoy amazing local produce and of course get a little pampering action. So for my recent wedding anniversary we decided to treat ourselves to a night at the Lake House and their degustation dinner.

We arrived in the late afternoon and on checking into our room we were greeted by a jar of produce, gifted to us as returning guests. The simple gesture was a surprise that included many layers of brand-oriented delight. The produce is part of the greater Lake House story.

The Wolf-Tasker family have run Lakehouse since it first opened 30-odd years ago. Alla Wolf-Tasker has also been a dynamo of inspiration in putting Daylesford and it’s regional produce on the map Nationally. We worked with Alla and her daughter Larissa a few years back to develop the branding for their range of local, seasonal produce which we named ‘a Wolf in the Kitchen’. The branding reflects the Russian heritage of the Wolf-Tasker family and the love for preserving seasonal, windfall produce that has been handed down through generations.

The story of the produce forms one delicious layer of the larger Lake House brand story, weaving together themes of family, heritage and regional produce. The end result being a very much ‘on-brand’ gesture and a reminder for all brands to look for ways to surprise and delight their customers.
