WELCOME TO THE 2009 IGNITE! DESIGN GRADUATE AWARDS.
IGNITE! has sprung from our desire to shine the spotlight on the best young graphic design talent in the country.
The Deal
Send a PDF of your folio containing your best 12 pieces of work to ignite@storm.com.au by Sunday 06 Dec 2009. We’ll select the best three folios as finalists (see below).
The finalists will be notified by 5pm Tuesday 08 Dec 2009. Life is expensive, but entry to IGNITE! is free.
The Gravy
The three finalists will receive:
The folios’ of the finalists will be emailed to all our mates (they run the best design and brand agencies in town.) The adulation of your friends and maybe even some people you don’t know.
Beyond all that booty, the winner will also receive:
1000 bucks and a three-month internship as a junior designer earning the big bucks at Storm Design & Brand DNA.
The Stuff
We will be judging your work on the following criteria:
– Creativity/ideas
– Design Aesthetic
– Fresh/orginial
Design switch-hitter displaying strong skills across:
– Identity
– Typography
– Publication
– Web site
– Illustration
– Etc.
– Use of language
– Finish/execution
– The P word; potential
The Small Type
Three month internship begins 01 Feb and runs through until 30 April 2010. Internship wage is pro-rata of $32,000 p.a. (that means roughly one quarter of the annual wage paid over the three months).
There is no guarantee of employment beyond the three months – although if you blow our socks-off, who knows…
Folios received after 06 Dec 2009, will not be considered. Folios will be judged by a panel of highly esteemed Storm Design and Brand DNA people. We know our shit and so our decisions are final.
