An International Guide to Contemporary Packaging Design
As the book says; ‘Packaging is a highly underrated art form. As the first thing a consumer sees when looking at a product, the packaging can make or break a sale’. Every year, the Pentawards celebrate the art of the package by presenting awards to the very best packaging designs from around the world. Designers compete in five main categories—beverages, food, body, luxury, and other markets.
Featuring a selection of over 400 works from 39 countries, this book brings together all the Pentawards winners from 2009 and 2010 plus the main winners from 2008, providing a vivid demonstration of creativity in every form of packaging. Readers will also discover what drives design industry leaders and agencies behind these creations which are so much part of our everyday lives. This well of inspiration is not just aimed at design and marketing professionals but anyone with an interest in the creative process of packaging.
Truly Deeply’s packaging design work for Gelati Sky was selected to be represented amongst the worlds best, but even greater-still, our work was selected to appear on the back cover of the book. The guys at Taschen have impeccable taste we think.
Last week saw the official launch of the Package Design Book at Taschen’s stylish Paris store where the publication plastered with our lovely brand design goodness was proudly displayed. In some ways it’s kind of like having our own Paris office – well as close as we’ll get this year anyway.
