Thanks for sharing. I love how this collection of images captures such an amazing array of emotions.

Cheers Tom, They say a picture is worth a thousand words and there’s a hundred pics here – so that pretty much says it all.

It is quite a unique sport that you see such dramatic storytelling and personal journeys take place. A great example is “Our Kim” Clijsters. She has been well and truly adopted by us Aussies because we have been through a relationship, her career lows and highs with her. Great photography by Ben Solomon and Getty Images!

    4. Reg says:

Love the images and love the strong blue background of the courts…a true brand property of the Australian Open.

    5. Andrew says:

Some sensational imagery in that bundle Dave and just love how each facial expression tells a different story.

    6. david says:

Thanks Tim, there’s nothing like beautiful photography to capture the moments. The colours of the event are so vivid.

    7. david says:

Thanks Reg, You’re right about the colour of the court. If we think of the other Grand Slams, court colour is a differentiators – other than the US Open and the Aus Open with a similar surface and colour. With the US the original blue court, maybe the Aus Open missed a brand opportunity there.

Thanks Andrew, the focus on the human element is a great reminder that the Grand Slam is really about the combat between two athletic gladiators. Amazing how we have always been draw to such battles.
