In Australia, retailers continue to struggle. A two speed economy and continuing frugality amongst consumers looks like being around for some time into the future. Data released by the Reserve Bank at the beginning of this week indicates that credit and debit card transactions shows the average credit card limit grew only 0.7 % over the past year, the slowest growth on record over the past 17 years. The Age on March 13 also reported Commsec’s Economist Craig James as stating ‘…the new age of consumer conservatism shows no signs of ending. Consumers are likely to maintain their preference for value shopping, keeping the pressure on margins.’

For anyone who has ever been to a fashion show, I am sure they are all too familiar with the disappointment of returning home to review the photos of the day, only to find your IPhone full of blurry snapshots that vaguely resemble a person. To combat this, the team at Made (formerly MAC & Milk) have designed a new revolutionary app. The Made Fashion app uses technology developed with Sonicnotify to streamline the way designers, editors, buyers and consumers experience fashion shows and presentations.
The Art Project by Google
The Art Project is a collaboration between Google and some of the world’s most acclaimed museums. It allows uses to take an online virtual tour around some of the world most prestigious art galleries, zoom in on some of the most famous artworks to amazing detail and listen to online commentary. Whilst there are some notable exclusions of paintings and galleries, it is a work in progress and the Art Project powered by Google plans to expand its collection of galleries and artworks.
