Talked about in a previous blog The Australia Project, the concept was developed by Chris Edser, Scott Heinrich and Yianni Hill and was setup to spark debate about Australia’s national identity. I was fortunate enough to be invited to design a submission to the brief.
The Australia Project is a series of arts-based initiatives aimed at critically examining Australia’s national identity. Engaging prominent Australian creatives and the general public alike, the project seeks to provoke wide-spread debate regarding contemporary Australian culture. Australia is, to its people, many things that its cultural stereotypes do not express. The Australia Project seeks to re-examine the validity of current clichés, with the intention of revealing new perspectives from Australians about Australia today.

Looks like a great exhibition Tim. Would love to see more examples capturing the spirit of the great Australian brand if this poster is anything to go-by.
Thanks for the reminder Tim! I visited this exhibition last year and was really engaged at the different interpretations each artists had on the Australian brand.
Thanks Tim. I love the debate around Australia’s design identity. A country so vast and with so many difference makes for an interesting and unique design perspective.
