Design Files Open House is the brilliant brain child of Melbourne style blogger
Lucy Feagins who runs ‘The Design Files’.
I’m a big fan of Lucy’s work and enjoy her daily design inspirations. The Open House event she puts on annually is a brilliant concept where the design from her blog leaps off the screen and into real life by-way of a stunningly styled house to walk through. Lucy now runs an Open House event in both Sydney and Melbourne, and they are beautiful and inspiring places to visit. Rarely do you find such a rich example of interior design styling so beautifully curated. The layers of furniture, art, soft furnishings, colours, light and layout are so rich and deep you can walk through the houses over and again and see new things each time.
The Open Houses feature furniture, vessels and beautiful bits & pieces by Jardan, Bonnie and Neil, The Forty Nine Studio, Dinosaur Designs, Such Great Heights, Country Road and Marz Designs. Loads of beautiful rugs by Loom. Artwork by Kirra Jamison, Sally Ross, vintage poster from Galerie Montmartre, Rachel Castle, Beci Orpin, Dion Horstmans, Kirra Jamison, Rachel Castle, Miranda Skoczek and Esther Stewartto name a few. Photos are all by Brooke Holm.
Design Files Open House Melbourne is on now runs through to Sunday November 24th, 10.00am – 5.00pm each day.
The event is sponsored by – Jardan, Mini, Dulux, Country Road and Petaluma.

Sydney Open House
An impressive 3-level warehouse home in Surry Hills is the location for our inaugural Sydney event. This large family home comprises studio and garage on the ground floor (don’t forget to check out the brand new Mini Paceman!), open plan living, dining and deck on the first floor, and bedrooms on the upper level. Just a short stroll from Crown Street shops and cafes, we’ll release the precise location a little closer to the time!
