New Tech Driving New Brand Trends

Technology in general, and AI (artificial intelligence) in particular has been on the ‘new tech’ radar for years and the subject of Hollywood movies for longer still. But few who are not working in the tech space have grasped how close we are from AI playing a role in changing our every-day lives.

Tech continues to be a major disruptor in our lives, taking care of more and more monotonous or physical tasks to make our life easier. But that same tech has always been considered relatively dumb, and far from creative. But some of the new and interesting applications of AI are proving it to have very creative applications.

Enter the Intelligentx Brewing Company, which earlier this year launched a range of beers brewed by artificial intelligence. The brewery uses a combination of customer feedback and an automated brewing algorithm to craft the perfect brew. The feedback is gathered by a Facebook Messenger bot, turned into data which is used by the automated system to adjust recipes and brewing method.

Sound crazy and fanciful? Maybe. But consumers are proving to be master adaptors to any and every technology they see as enhancing their lives.

Which brands can benefit from AI? Think of some of the historically creative industries such as: cosmetics, fabric design, fashion styling, beer brewing, coffee brewing or just about any artisanal product manufacturing. Whether attempting to create the perfect brew for a whole market, or the ideal outfit and make-up for the perfect you, the creative industries may be more open to AI disruption than we ever thought.
