Another successful Art With Heart

We’re still on a high after another hugely successful Art with Heart evening last week. What a night!

We’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity so far, our Truly Deeply community reaches far and wide and was so great to see so many friends, colleagues, old TD family, clients and lots of new faces this year. While we always have a cracker of an evening, the artwork was phenomenal this year, it’s important to remember why we have been running Art with Heart for almost 15 years now – to raise much needed funds for local charities in Melbourne. Our ethos on selecting a charity for AWH each year is, they must be local, mainly charities who don’t receive government funding, but for me, they are people who are selflessly doing wonderful things in the community. It was lovely to see Wendy and Carol from last year’s charity, Beyond Words, come along this year. Wendy gave a beautiful speech on how Art with Heart has helped them over the past 12 months. The $27,000 raised has helped them to expand their service into more residential aged care, employ new writers, and kept them operating – which was really powerful to hear. Thank you Wendy for your always amazing words!

This year’s charity, One Voice

We’re really passionate about this year’s charity that we’re raising much needed funds for, One Voice, Mobile Shower Bus. One Voice is a not for profit organisation who’s vision is to seek and assist homeless youth living on the streets who are in need of basic help and support; by providing practical human services, hope and opportunity for a better standard of life and future. They strive to create positive change in peoples lives by providing Mobile Shower Services to help restore dignity in people lives, one hot shower at a time. To see young people living ‘rough’ across Australia; deprived of basic needs, protection and support; be given the opportunity to restore their lives; in an environment that will help them achieve their dreams.

We’re currently working through the blind auction results from the night and are contacting successful bidders to arrange payment and collection. For those of you who missed out on one of your favourite pieces, or couldn’t make it on the night, we still have some amazing art still available, there’s a snapshot of what’s left below. Please check out our Facebook page, where we’ve posted all the artwork. We’ve updated the titles of the art that’s SOLD, everything else is up from grabs!
