Beautiful Brand Engagement – Fendi’s 90 Year Celebration kicked off last week at the iconic Trevi Fountain in Rome.
In 2012 Fendi spent US$2.2m to fund the restoration of Trevi Fountain. The local fashion brand paid for the crumbling fountain’s crucial maintenance in exchange for the right to affix a branded plaque next to the tourist magnet for four years. Further building on their connection to Rome, and leveraging their relationship with the fountain even further, they constructed a clear runway on the water of the fountain to create an illusion of their model’s walking on water. The result is a stunning piece of fashion runway theater, but produced in a way that continues to build an amazingly authentic brand connection between Fendi, the Fountain Trevi and Rome. I’m a fan!
