The latest branding trend for fashion takes to the streets.
As the on again / off again relationship with fashion brands featuring their logos on their clothes continues, the latest trend is high fashion featuring their branding loud and proud on the feet of their customers. Yep, high-end women’s shoes have become the latest canvas on which brands are dialing-up their logos.
If there are a set of rules for featuring your brand as the hero on your product, they are:
• Ask permission of your audience – are you in a category where this is a positive?
• Be first to market, not a follower with this trend.
• Do-so with caution and keep an eye out for shifting social sentiment.
• Be ready to move just as quickly.
This trend is far from a green light for brands across every category to start plastering their branding across everything they produce. The fashion world is a fickle place for brands who have to move quick to stay on trend and quicker to ensure they don’t find themselves off trend. Whilst it’s always been the ultimate sign of success to have consumers choose to sport your logo as part of their personal self expression, this trend can go cold as quickly as it became hot.
