Burger King’s invitation to Harry and Meghan.

Burger King Branding

A Right Royal Bit of Branding Fun.

I’m loving this brand campaign from Burger King leveraging the global interest in the current Royal family split. Creating timely brand ads that connect with something as newsworthy as the royal split is not a new idea, but you have to tip your hat (or crown) to any brand who moves fast and nails it.

Burger King Argentina this week produced a print ad showing their support (King to Duke) to the Duke of Sussex and offering to assist with the couple’s quest for financial independence. The campaign headline read; “Dear Dukes, if you are looking for a job, we have a new crown for you.”  The campaign included a letter that read; “We found out that the Prince and Duchess decided to give up their roles in the royal family and will work to become financially independent. So, we have a proposition for you: do as thousands of people and take the first steps in the workforce with us.”

The global burger brand included a code to scan to access employment pages of the BK web site. A very clever employee branding gesture.

Meanwhile, Burger King UK also got into the groove, tweeting; “You can still eat like a king with us, Harry.”
With brand quips like these – long live the King!
